The more than 12.5 million members of The United Methodist Church needed an accessible, world-class design that could speak to an international audience. Both the site and the audience are only growing.
Building a growing site with a thousands of pages and millions of visitors is no small task. The UMC staff adds content daily and site visitors are up 25% compared to the old website. Working closely with UMC, we developed a responsive, multi-site framework managing UMC.org as well as many of UMC’s other key agencies such as UMCom.org, KoreanUMC.org, Hispanic UMC, and Interpreter Magazine.
Engaging on Any Screen
More than 40% of UMC’s site visitors use a mobile device of some type, and 25% are on a smartphone. The previous site gave people a clunky experience on any device smaller than a desktop. Not anymore. Using responsive techniques, we designed and developed the new site to guarantee it looks great and is just as easy to navigate on a mobile device as it is a computer.
Great Stories, Great Visuals
UMC's previous web presence was dated and difficult to use. We created a visually centered design that represents UMC's global brand through strong images and captivating copy. Plus, the new navigational structure presents the site's content in a way that's simple and intuitive.
Spreading the Good News
UMC has a robust news service that produces compelling stories every day. We placed an increased emphasis on the news, photo and video content that UMC publishes, and breathed new life into their legacy news content.
